1. Who We Are
focusEDU provides higher-education consulting services to colleges, universities, and educational institutions. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect personal information through focusedunow.com.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Contact form submissions — name, email address, institution, phone number (if you choose to provide it), and the content of your inquiry.
- Email correspondence — the content of any email you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and timestamps. This is standard server log information.
- Analytics data — aggregated, de-identified data from Google Analytics 4 (see Cookie Policy). Analytics cookies load by default (CCPA opt-out model). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Respond to your inquiries and provide the consulting services you request.
- Send you information about our services, when you have asked us to.
- Improve our website content and user experience using aggregate analytics data.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or misuse.
4. How We Share Information
focusEDU does not sell personal information. We share personal information only with:
- Service providers who help us operate our website and email infrastructure (e.g., Google Analytics for measurement, our hosting provider, our email provider). These providers are bound by contract to use the information only on our behalf.
- Legal authorities, when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property.
5. Data Retention
We keep contact form submissions and related correspondence as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterward. Server logs are typically retained for up to 90 days. Google Analytics data retention follows GA4’s configured retention period.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of that information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share for cross-context advertising).
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information.
- Designate an authorized agent to exercise these rights on your behalf.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us with the subject “Privacy Request.” We will respond within 45 days as required by law.
7. Cookies & Tracking
This website uses a limited set of cookies. Analytics cookies load by default to measure aggregate site usage (CCPA opt-out model); no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used. Browsers sending the Global Privacy Control signal are auto-opted-out of analytics. See our dedicated Cookie Policy for the full list of cookies, their purpose, and how to change your preferences at any time.
