Darren is excited to join focusEDU as a Consulting Director. Darren has served his 30+ year career in Higher Education Strategic Enrollment Management. An Indiana native, Darren calls San Diego, CA home. He served the first half of his career in progressively responsible leadership positions and has served in interim executive leadership roles and as a consultant since 2012. Darren has proudly served at multiple diverse institutions, including Ball State University, Indiana University, University of Illinois, Vanguard University, Stockton University, and 11 years in the California State University System, including CSU San Marcos and CSU Fullerton, the largest public university campus in California.
Darren's philosophy - Strategic Enrollment Management is a comprehensive campuswide total team responsibility - not that of one office or division - an exciting positive opportunity for an institution to collectively plan, align, and strategize about the best ways to prioritize its resources to maximize its enrollment - recruit, retain, serve, and graduate students - no silos, all hands on deck, pulling out all the stops - to aggressively position itself to reflect its unique holistic student experience, character, setting, and advantages to succeed in the increasingly competitive higher education marketplace.
