Jim Bouse Appointed Consulting Director for Enrollment Management Services for focusEDU
Jim Bouse has joined the team of focusEDU as Consulting Director for Enrollment Management Services after an acclaimed career as a national leader in the registrar and enrollment management professions. Jim looks forward to providing his skills and professional expertise to assist the leadership of the higher education community.
Herb Riley, President of focusEDU, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jim Bouse as Consulting Director for Enrollment Management Services. Jim joins the team of focusEDU in May of 2026 after an acclaimed career as a national leader in the registrar and enrollment management professions.
Jim served as the Director of Enrollment Management Technology and Associate Registrar for Technology at the University of Oregon. He served on the Student Services and Enrollment Management leadership team, the President’s Advisory Council and the Provost’s Council on AI Governance as the lead for the University AI Policy Workgroup. He directed a staff that managed and implemented the technology infrastructure that supported enrollment management, including ECM workflow, CRM, SIS, academic scheduling systems, reporting and analysis, electronic transcript AI data extraction and transfer articulation automation, and records systems. Jim had the unique opportunity to serve as project manager to create a new, award-winning, capital construction Student Welcome Center from the ground up.
Jim has served as President for the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and is now an honorary lifetime member of that Association. He has presented sessions, webinars and workshops dozens of times at state, regional and national conferences.
An outdoor enthusiast, Jim enjoys backpacking with his wife and two daughters and attempting to pass along enjoyment of running, cycling and swimming. When jumping out of helicopters and diving in tropical waters became too sedate he opted for the glamour of higher education. Jim received his Bachelor of Science degree in Government from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and his MBA from Cal Poly Humboldt.
Jim has also completed the Registrar Summer Institute at Aspen, the Vanderbilt Senior Academic and Enrollment Services Professional Institute, the UO Leadership Academy and the UO Financial Stewardship Institute. Jim’s skill-based expertise includes:
