James Martak

James has over 15 years of experience managing and developing the veteran education benefits office at the University of Utah. With a focus on the needs of veteran students, he has helped shape the University to make the campus more veteran-friendly with policies for admissions, priority registration, tuition, academic and career advising, peer mentorship, and military leave of absence processes. James creates innovative and effective strategies that assist VA school certifying officials with compliance issues, program development/implementation/management, process evaluation and efficiency, policy reviews, data analysis, SIS software development, and SCO training. James received his Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Utah.
