Everett Jeter has accepted an appointment to join the team of focusEDU as a Consulting Director for Financial Aid Services. Everett is a trusted financial aid leader and consultant with over 20 years of experience helping colleges, universities, and educational organizations strengthen compliance, optimize operations, and improve student-centered service delivery. Everett specializes in Title IV federal aid compliance, operational assessments, and strategic process improvement. Known for a hands-on and solutions-oriented approach, Everett partners with institutions to identify risk, streamline workflows, and implement sustainable practices that enhance efficiency and audit readiness. Their expertise spans policy and procedure development, system implementation, and staff training, with experience in platforms such as Colleague, Banner, PowerFAIDS, and Workday. As a consultant, Everett frequently serves in interim leadership roles, guiding financial aid offices through periods of transition while maintaining compliance and operational stability. He has successfully led full-scale operational reviews, supported federal and state audit processes, and delivered tailored training programs that strengthen team performance and institutional effectiveness. Prior to consulting, Everett held senior leadership roles in the North Carolina Community College and UNC systems, where he led compliance initiatives, resolved complex regulatory challenges, and advised executive leadership on policy and risk mitigation. Everett holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from Appalachian State University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of South Carolina. He has also served as a NASFAA Standards of Excellence Team Leader and Peer Reviewer, supporting institutions nationwide in achieving best-in-class financial aid operations.
